Liver hydatid cysts remain a significant surgical and anesthetic challenge, requiring a multidisciplinary approach for optimal management. Advances in imaging have improved diagnostic accuracy, particularly in challenging locations such as the hepatic dome, reducing misdiagnoses and guiding precise surgical interventions. Surgical strategies must balance cyst eradication, preservation of hepatic function, and prevention of complications, especially in emergency settings where early intervention significantly impacts outcomes. Anesthesiologic considerations, including fluid management, anaphylaxis prevention, and intraoperative monitoring, are equally critical in ensuring patient safety during these procedures. Drawing on extensive clinical experience and research, this editorial explores the evolving surgical and anesthetic perspectives in liver hydatid cyst treatment, emphasizing the importance of seamless collaboration between surgeons and anesthesiologists to optimize patient care and reduce morbidity.
